These Terms apply to all visitors, members, and users of our site. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our site or services. We may update these Terms from time to time, so please review them periodically to ensure you understand the Terms in effect. Use of the website following any changes signifies your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Certain website areas (such as member-only sections or booking systems) may require you to create an account or register. If you register an account, you agree to provide truthful, current information about yourself. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login credentials, and for all activities that occur under your account. The Club reserves the right to suspend or disable any account if we suspect a breach of these Terms or security. If you believe your account has been compromised, you must notify us immediately.

When using our website or any online services, you agree to do so only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of or restrict or inhibit anyone else’s use of the site. In particular, you must not engage in any of the following:

  • Malicious or Illegal Activity: You must not knowingly introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or any other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our site, servers, or any related computer systems, nor attack our site via a denial-of-service attack. Any such attempt may constitute a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990, and we will report breaches to law enforcement as appropriate.
  • Prohibited Content: You must not use our site to post or transmit any material that is unlawful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or discriminatory (including on the basis of race, gender, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability). Any content that incites violence, contains hate speech, or facilitates illegal activity is strictly forbidden.
  • Integrity of the Site: You must not misuse the site by attempting to disrupt its functionality or by transmitting harmful code. You are responsible for using your own virus protection software and ensuring your device and internet connection are secure. We do not guarantee that our site will be free from bugs, viruses, or other harmful components, so you should take appropriate precautions.

Violation of the above acceptable use rules may result in immediate termination of your right to use our website and could result in further action (including legal action) as necessary. We reserve the right to remove any content you post and/or report any misuse to the authorities.

Intellectual Property and Content Use

Unless otherwise stated, the Club owns the intellectual property rights in all website content, including text, images, logos, graphics, and multimedia. All such rights are reserved. You may access and print content from our site for your personal, non-commercial use, such as reading about club news or downloading a membership form. However, you must not modify any materials you have printed or downloaded, and you must not separate any graphics or photos from the accompanying text.

You are not permitted to copy, distribute, republish, or exploit any content from our site for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. If you quote or reference content from our site, please attribute it to Three Bridges Cricket Club. Unauthorized use of our content may violate copyright, trademark, and other laws. “Three Bridges Cricket Club” and our logos are property of the Club; any unauthorized use of these marks is prohibited.

External Links

Our website may include links to third-party websites or resources (for example, league websites, sponsors, or partner organizations). These links are provided for your convenience and information only. The Club has no control over the content or availability of external sites, and the inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement or approval by the Club. We are not responsible for the content, security, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. If you follow links to other sites, you do so at your own risk, and you should review the terms and privacy policies of those sites.

Site Availability and Changes

We aim to keep our website accessible and functioning smoothly. However, we do not guarantee that the site (or any content on it) will always be available or uninterrupted. The Club may suspend, withdraw, or restrict the availability of all or part of the website for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons. We will try to provide advance notice for any significant downtime when feasible, but shall not be liable if the site is unavailable at any time.

Content on the website is subject to change without notice. We may update or change information (including these Terms) to reflect changes in our services or for legal/compliance reasons. It is your responsibility to check for updates to our Terms or policies. We also reserve the right to remove or edit content on the site at our discretion.

Membership and Club Participation

By becoming a member of the Three Bridges Cricket Club or participating in club activities, you agree to adhere to all club rules, policies, and codes of conduct. Membership is open to all individuals interested in cricket, regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, or other beliefs. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment. The Club may offer different classes of membership (e.g., adult player, junior, social member) with fees set at fair levels so as not to pose a significant obstacle to participation.

Member Responsibilities and Code of Conduct

All members are expected to uphold the values of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity. By joining the Club, you agree to the following responsibilities and rules:

  • Abide by Club Rules: Follow all Club rules, policies, and codes (including but not limited to our Code of Conduct, Safeguarding Policy, and ECB directives). This includes on-field conduct (respecting umpires, opponents, and teammates) and off-field behaviour that reflects on the Club. All members must abide by these standards as a condition of membership.
  • Respect and Inclusion: Treat fellow members, coaches, officials, opponents, and visitors with courtesy and respect at all times. Discriminatory, abusive, or harassing behaviour is not tolerated. We strive to maintain a friendly, inclusive environment for everyone involved in the Club.
  • Safety and Fitness: Prioritize safety during all club activities. Follow the instructions of coaches, captains, and event organizers regarding training and match play. If you have any medical conditions or injuries that could affect your participation, inform Club officials (e.g., your team captain or coach) in advance so we can make appropriate accommodations. You should ensure you understand the nature and risks of any activity before participating and never participate beyond your ability or in unsafe conditions.
  • Fees and Contributions: Pay any membership fees, match fees, or other agreed contributions on time. The Club relies on member support, and prompt payment of dues is essential to maintain your membership benefits (such as eligibility for selection and use of facilities). Membership fees and subscription levels are decided by the Club’s committee and communicated to members; these may be reviewed periodically. If you face difficulty in paying fees, please speak to a Club officer to discuss possible arrangements.
  • Club Property and Facilities: Treat Club equipment, kit, and facilities with care. Members may be issued club property (such as team kits or keys to facilities) – you are responsible for returning such items in good condition. Vandalism or misuse of club property may result in disciplinary action and liability for damages.
  • Communication: Keep your contact information up to date with the Club so we can reach you with important notices (e.g. match selections, schedule changes, AGM notices). Regularly check the communication channels the Club uses (such as email, WhatsApp groups, or the Club’s website) for updates. When communicating within the Club (including on social media or messaging groups associated with the Club), members should remain respectful and constructive.
  • Sportsmanship: Adhere to the “Spirit of Cricket” – play fair, play to the rules, and respect the decisions of match officials. Win or lose, members should conduct themselves with humility and respect. Unsportsmanlike conduct (such as cheating, fighting, or excessive dissent) will be subject to disciplinary action.

Club Discipline and Termination of Membership

The Club Committee reserves the right to investigate and address any violations of club rules or these Terms. Complaints or concerns about a member’s conduct may be reviewed by the Committee or a disciplinary sub-committee in accordance with the Club’s constitution and policies. The Committee has the authority to take appropriate disciplinary action, which can include warnings, suspension of membership, or, in serious cases, termination of membership or exclusion from Club premises.

If a disciplinary hearing is convened, the member will typically be informed of the allegations and given an opportunity to present their side. Outcomes of disciplinary proceedings will be communicated in writing to the member and any relevant parties as per our club procedures. A member who is subject to disciplinary action may have a right of appeal in line with the Club’s constitution.

In cases of gross misconduct or behaviour that brings the Club into disrepute, the Committee may impose an immediate suspension pending investigation. Termination of membership for cause (e.g., serious breaches of conduct) will generally not entitle the member to any refund of fees already paid.

Members are free to resign their membership at any time by notifying the Club Secretary or Membership Coordinator. If you resign or your membership lapses and you later wish to rejoin, standard application procedures will apply. (For how we handle your data after leaving, see the Privacy Policy below.)

Booking, Matches, and Events

The Club may offer online or offline systems for booking matches, training sessions, net practice, social events, or other activities. When you sign up or book for any club activity, you agree to the specific terms of that booking as well as the general club rules:

  • Registration: Some club events (e.g., training sessions or nets) may require prior booking or registration via the website or a designated contact. You must provide accurate information when booking (such as the names of attendees) and honour any commitments – for example, showing up for a match you’ve been selected for, or cancelling with reasonable notice if you cannot attend. This allows the Club to plan appropriately and offer your spot to others if needed.
  • Event Conduct: All club activities are conducted under the oversight of Club officials (team captains, coaches, event organizers). Participants are expected to follow instructions and safety guidelines given by the officials. For example, if you are attending a training session, you should wear appropriate gear and follow the coach’s directions to ensure safety. The Club reserves the right to refuse or remove any participant from an activity if they behave disruptively or in a manner that risks injury to themselves or others.
  • Guests and Non-Members: If you bring guests (such as a friend or a trialist) to club activities, you are responsible for ensuring they also follow club rules and instructions. Some activities might allow non-member participants (e.g., a taster session or community event) – such participants must still comply with all safety rules and code of conduct as if they were members. The Club may require non-members to sign a waiver or acknowledgement of risk before participating in certain activities.
  • Cancellation and Changes: The Club reserves the right to cancel or reschedule matches, training, or events due to weather, insufficient numbers, or other unforeseen circumstances. We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible in such cases (for example, via email, text, or website announcement). If you have paid a fee for an event that is cancelled by us, we will provide a full refund or credit toward a rescheduled date. If you need to cancel your participation in a booked event, please do so as early as possible and inform the relevant organizer. Refunds for participant-initiated cancellations will be granted in line with any stated event policy (for instance, we might refund if cancellation is more than 24 hours before a paid training session, but not for last-minute no-shows). For one-off events scheduled on specific dates (such as a paid training workshop or a ticketed social event), please note that consumer “cooling-off” cancellation rights might not apply (since such leisure activities on set dates can be exempt from the standard 14-day online cancellation rule).
  • Assumption of Risk: By taking part in club matches or physical activities, you acknowledge that cricket (and related training) involves inherent risks (e.g. being struck by a cricket ball or sustaining athletic injuries). The Club takes reasonable steps to ensure a safe environment (providing well-maintained facilities, safety equipment, first aid availability, etc.), but cannot eliminate all risks. You participate in club activities at your own risk, and are responsible for using any personal protective equipment required by the laws of cricket or as common sense dictates (helmet, pads, etc. for batsmen, for example).

The Club strongly advises all players to carry their own insurance for personal injury and property damage, especially non-members or guests who may not be covered under club insurance. We will do our best to maintain a safe environment and ask all participants to do the same by adhering to safety instructions.

Fees and Online Payments

The Club may allow online payments for certain items such as membership subscriptions, match fees, training fees, or club merchandise (e.g., kits and clothing). All prices for memberships or products will be stated in UK Pounds Sterling (GBP) and, unless otherwise indicated, are inclusive of any applicable taxes. By making an online purchase or payment, you agree to provide valid payment information (e.g., credit/debit card details) and authorize us (or our third-party payment processor) to charge the specified amount.

Payment Processing: Online payments will typically be handled through a secure third-party payment service (for example, a platform such as Stripe, PayPal, or the ECB’s Play-Cricket payment system). We do not store your full card details on our servers when you make an online payment; all sensitive payment information is handled by the payment provider in accordance with industry security standards. Please see our Privacy Policy for more on how we handle your personal data in transactions.

Membership Fees: Annual membership fees (and any one-off joining fees, if applicable) are set by the Club’s committee and may be subject to change each season. When you join or renew your membership online, your membership will typically be activated once payment is received. If you sign up for membership via our website (i.e., a distance contract), you have a legal right under consumer laws to cancel your membership within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, provided you have not made use of member benefits in that time. (For example, if you immediately played in matches or used members-only facilities within that 14-day period, we may deduct a reasonable cost for those services as permitted by law.) To cancel within this cooling-off period, you should contact us in writing (email is sufficient). After 14 days, membership fees are generally non-refundable for that season, except in exceptional circumstances at the Club’s discretion or if required by law.

Event Fees: For any event or session fees paid online (such as a paid coaching clinic or a ticket to a club dinner), the terms of cancellation and refund will be communicated as part of that event’s sign-up. If the event falls within the legal definition of a leisure activity on a specific date (e.g., a one-day coaching camp on a set date), the statutory 14-day cooling-off cancellation right may not apply. However, we will usually allow refunds or credits if you cancel well in advance or if we can fill your spot, per the event policy. If the Club cancels an event for which you’ve paid, you will receive a full refund or the option to credit the fee toward a rescheduled or future event.

Merchandise and Kit Orders: The Club might sell merchandise (such as club shirts, caps, or other gear) through the website or a partner platform. If you purchase merchandise online via our site, you are entitled to the standard consumer rights for goods. This typically includes a 14-day period from receipt of the goods during which you can cancel your order for any reason and return the item for a refund, as long as the item is unused and in resaleable condition (note that customized items (e.g., with your name/number) may not be returnable unless defective). Details on how to return merchandise and any applicable restocking or shipping fees will be provided with the sale or on the shop page. We aim to process any due refunds within 14 days of receiving a valid cancellation notice (or from receiving returned goods, if applicable).

Late or Failed Payments: If any membership fee or other payment owed by a member is not received by the due date, the Club reserves the right to suspend membership benefits (for example, you might not be eligible for team selection or access to facilities) until the dues are paid. Repeated failure to pay required fees may be treated as a breach of membership obligations. If you experience genuine difficulty in paying a fee on time, please contact the Club treasurer or membership secretary to discuss possible arrangements – we will seek to be understanding and may offer alternatives (like a payment plan) at our discretion.

Secure Transactions: We take the security of online payments seriously. All payment pages will be encrypted (look for the padlock and “https” in your browser). Please ensure you only make payments through official links on our website. The Club will not be responsible for payments made through unofficial channels or phishing links. Always double-check that you are on our legitimate site or the approved payment gateway. If you suspect any fraudulent activity or if an unauthorized transaction occurs, inform us and your payment provider immediately.

Liability and Disclaimers

Website Content: The Club does not accept liability for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information or materials on this website. As noted, content is provided for general use without guarantees of accuracy. We will not be liable for any errors or omissions in content, but we appreciate notifications of any inaccuracies so we can correct them.

Personal Injury and Property: Participation in physical sports carries some inherent risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Three Bridges Cricket Club is not liable for any injury, accident, illness, or death of any participant during club activities unless it is directly caused by our negligence or failure to take reasonable care. We require that activities are conducted in accordance with applicable safety rules and that facilities and equipment are maintained appropriately; if the Club is found negligent in these duties and that negligence results in harm, then we may be legally responsible. However, if injuries occur despite proper precautions – for example, a fielder is hurt by a cricket ball in normal play – this would generally be considered an assumed risk of the sport and not the result of Club negligence. All members and participants are expected to play responsibly and adhere to safety instructions to minimize risks.

The Club is also not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property brought to club premises or events, except where such loss is demonstrably due to the Club’s negligence. Please take care of your personal belongings and do not bring unnecessary valuables to matches or training. We recommend labelling your gear and using the provided storage areas when available. If you notice any hazardous condition or incident at a Club activity, please report it to a Club official so we can address it promptly.

Third-Party Services: Occasionally, the Club may facilitate or arrange third-party services for members (such as arranging group travel, or recommending a coaching camp run by another provider). Any such services provided by third parties are subject to those parties’ terms and liability. The Club will not be liable for the acts or omissions of third-party providers. For example, if we organize a club tour and you stay at a third-party hotel, any issues with the hotel stay would be the hotel’s responsibility, not the Club’s (though we will try to help resolve any problems in the interest of our members).

Indemnity: By using our site or participating in Club activities, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Three Bridges Cricket Club and its officers, coaches, volunteers, and agents from any claim, liability, loss, or expense (including legal fees) that arises from your breach of these Terms or your negligence at Club activities. This basically means if you do something that causes harm or legal issues and the Club faces a claim because of it, you may be responsible for the costs or damages that result. For instance, if you knowingly damage someone’s property at the club or post libellous content on our website, any resulting claims against the Club may be passed on to you.

Legal Compliance: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes the Club’s liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence or any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded under English law. These Terms are intended to be in compliance with relevant UK laws. If any provision of these Terms is found unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be deemed removed, but the rest of the Terms will remain valid and enforceable.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising from them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of England and Wales. By using our site or services, you agree that any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer residing in another part of the UK, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your local jurisdiction. We prefer to resolve any concerns or disputes amicably – if you have an issue, please contact us to discuss it before taking formal action.
